Endangered Indiana: Elwood Carnegie Library
It sits vacant now, but when the Elwood Carnegie Library opened in 1904 the building was considered a model for early twentieth-century library design. It served citizens for almost a century before the city built a new, larger library across the street. Indiana Landmarks has placed the Elwood Carnegie Library on its 10 Most Endangered List. Around INdiana Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman traveled to Madison County to find out why and what is being done to save it.
