Up until about six years ago, Tam Markey worked in the corporate world as engineer with Amoco and BP Pipelines. But the Purdue grad always wanted to be a teacher. So, Markey followed her heart and applied for a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship to teach high school engineering. Now Markey holds the distinction of being Indiana’s Teacher of the Year for her work at Lawrence Township’s McKenzie Center for Innovation and Technology.
