Winnebago to Resume Operations in May

(NYSE: WGO) has confirmed it will resume manufacturing operations next month. The company says the decision includes reopening the Newmar Corp. facility in Nappanee and Grand Design RV facility in Middlebury on Monday.
The company says it will also open its Winnebago Motorhomes facilities in Iowa on Monday. Additionally, the Winnebago Towables facility in Middlebury will reopen on May 11.
Winnebago President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Happe said, “We remain focused on ensuring the health and safety of our employees as we continue to gradually restart manufacturing operations around the Company in a disciplined approach, supported by committed demand from our valued channel partners.”
The manufacturer says it will maintain the medical and dental insurance benefits for its remaining furloughed employees during their unpaid leave.
Winnebago is launching the WGO Together Fund, a COVID-19 emergency assistance fund for employees. The manufacturer says the fund will support employees with high cases of financial hardship due to the pandemic. The Winnebago Industries Foundation has provided a multiple six-figure financial grant to the fund.
