KSM says Mitchell brings more than 25 years of experience with a focus on negotiating tax incentives for state and local governments.
Mitchell will partner with KSM Chief Executive Officer Katie Culp to work with companies around the country during the site selection process. The two will lead the team in identifying available sites, providing comparative analysis of qualified locations, and negotiating and securing economic development incentives.
“Knowing from firsthand experience that Mark is one of the top economic development talents in the country, I am thrilled to be working with him again as his career has come full-circle with his return to an Indiana-based company,” said Culp. “His experience and knowledge of multiple markets across the country will help to elevate our team’s capabilities and network.”
Mitchell previously led the business development team of the Indianapolis Economic Development Corp. for two years. Mitchell later served in various consulting roles across Michigan, Indiana, and Texas.
“Having worked alongside Mark as colleagues earlier in our careers, I know firsthand that his accomplishments, expertise, intellect, and reputation in economic development are unsurpassed,” said Katz Sapper & Miller, CEO and President Tim Cook. “Mark joining us to help lead our site selection team is an exciting day for the KSM family.”
KSM says Mitchell’s career also includes serving as the CEO for a regional economic development corporation, senior manager with a Big 4 accounting firm, and senior vice president of business development for a renewable energy company.
