California-based Avery Dennision Inc. (NYSE: AVY) says it will be closing its Fort Wayne plant next year, leaving 170 Hoosiers without jobs in northeast Indiana.

Our partners at WPTA-TV report the manufacturer of adhesives, labeling products, and packaging materials will conduct the layoffs over the next 12 months.

The company plans to complete the shutdown by October 2021.

Avery Dennison says production is being moved to plants in Greenfield and Mentor, OH.

The company told the TV station that the facility is landlocked and unable to expand the plant.
