An aerosol packaging company, already operational in South Bend, is getting an official welcome Wednesday by community business leaders. Executives of Tri-Pac will celebrate the grand opening of the new facility, along with state and local officials.

The company is a contract filling and packaging firm for over-the-counter and specialty aerosols and liquids.

The new $8 million, 65,000-square-foot, facility is located on 10 acres in St. Joseph County.

Tri-Pac relocated to South Bend from Vandalia, Michigan after receiving guaranteed tax abatements.

In return for the tax breaks, Tri-Pac says it’s committed to creating up to 70 new jobs by the end of 2020 and has already hired nearly half of these positions.
