Our partners at WPTA-TV report Lutheran sued Bauer for breach of contract in June 2017 after a failed bid to find a buyer for its Fort Wayne hospitals. Lutheran claimed Bauer was using insider information to bring IU Health to Fort Wayne.
Both parties have agreed to keep the settlement terms confidential. Bauer may not disclose any non-public information he learned during his employment with Lutheran until 2020. Bauer released a statement to WPTA-TV saying, "I’m pleased that we were able to settle and end the dispute. I look forward to my future in Northeast Indiana.”
Lutheran said in a statement to WPTA-TV that the "company remains focused on providing comprehensive, high-quality health care services for residents across northeast Indiana and continuing the network’s long history of civic and community engagement."
