The Wingate by Wyndham in the Angola Innovation Park is expected to be complete next spring. Developers says the 99-room hotel will be the first new hotel in the city in decades.
The hotel will be located near the U.S. 20 and I-69 interchange at the gateway area of the city. Angola Innovation Park is separated into two sections — the first includes commercial and retail projects such as the hotel — and the second will seek to serve as a "hub for innovation and regional growth" as the site of potential research and development-focused locators.
Angola First Development owns the land. Partner Jim Ingledue said during a groundbreaking ceremony earlier this week "the Park, at I-69 and U.S. 20, is the type of development which required the cooperation of the public and private sectors working together to achieve a common goal. We are confident that the Angola Innovation Park will develop as a major economic and community asset as well as a positive and attractive front door to the City of Angola."
