The person selected will serve the remainder of the term of former Senator Brandt Hershman, who resigned earlier this month.
The caucus will take place at the Best Western Plus Brandywine Inn & Suites in Monticello. Indiana Republican Party State Chairman Kyle Hupfer will preside over the proceedings.
The final roster of candidates seeking to fill Hershman’s term includes:
- Arthur Anderson
- Brian Buchanan
- Edward Cripe
- Stephen Jordan
- Shelli Maxwell
- Arvid Olson
Each candidate will have a short period of time to speak to the caucus before a vote is held. If a candidate receives more than 50 percent of all votes cast, that person will be declared the winner. If there is not a majority on the first ballot, the person or persons with the lowest number of votes will be dropped and a second ballot will be held.
The Indiana Republican Party will live stream the caucus on Facebook, which you can view by clicking here.
