In a notice filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the company said more than 60 employees will be out of work beginning in mid-March.
Schneider did not provide a reason for the layoffs, but said the entire facility would not be closing. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Inside INdiana Business.
The notice says 61 employees would be let go within a two-week period beginning March 16. The majority of the employees affected by the move are manufacturing operators. Two are skilled trades positions.
The affected employees are represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Some employees may have bumping rights outlined in the union’s collective bargaining agreement.
The announcement comes nearly a year after Schneider Electric detailed plans to lay off 70 employees last spring.
