Indiana’s online nonprofit university has announced 15 new 2020 Vision Scholarships. WGU Indiana says the move is in response to Governor Eric Holcomb’s call for Hoosiers to get additional training to fill more than 1 million expected job openings by 2025.

The school says it is accepting applications for the $2,000 scholarships through the end of the year. They are open to students pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degrees.The school says the average time to complete a degree at the school is about two-and-a-half years, at a cost of about $6,000 per year.

Indiana Secretary of Career Connections and Talent says WGU Indiana "plays an important role in educating our work force," adding the state needs "partners to provide a deep pool of talent for employers."

WGU Indiana celebrated its seventh anniversary this summer. The school boasts a current enrollment of 5,000, and says it has granted degrees to 4,700 graduates since 2010.
