The company says it will invest $17 million and add hundreds of jobs in the move across the county line, the third corporate headquarters relocation for Fishers in just over a year. While Fishers’ gain appears to be Indy’s loss, Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness says it does nothing to strain regional economic development efforts. "We should never be going out and cold-calling, saying you should move here or there, and I don’t think anyone is in that practice in the region," said Fadness. "Everyone should put their best foot forward and then wherever they go is a win for the region."
In an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Fadness talked about his views on competition and how the Knowledge Services deal fits with the city’s vision for the future.
The Knowledge Services move to Fishers will be the company’s fourth expansion in five years and is expected to result in 400 new jobs by 2021. The cloud software and services company currently has approximately 1,200 Indiana employees and more than 1,500 nationwide.
The woman-owned company was founded in 1994 by Julie Bielawski and is planning a new 80,000 square foot building on 17 acres at 11001 USA Parkway, along the bustling I-69 corridor in Fishers.
Knowledge Service President Joe Bielawski says growth is being driven primarily by cloud and mobile technology and professional services and views Fishers as a great location to attract top talent. "What they are doing in this area for live, work, play and attracting the kind of talent and spectacular people that we want, it’s an ideal place," said Bielawski in an interview with Inside INdiana Business.
The company plans on moving into the new space in 2019.
