Purdue Tuition Remains Frozen
The tuition and fee recommendations will now go to the Executive Committee for a May 31 public hearing

This is the sixth consecutive year tuition has remained flat at Purdue. The university says the extension ensures that four graduating classes will have gone through Purdue without experiencing a tuition increase. Additionally, Daniels announced a 2.5 percent merit raise pool for employees this year.
In-state students at Purdue will pay $10,002 through 2018-19. Out-of-state students will pay $28,804 and international students will pay $30,804. Room and board costs also remain at or lower than 2012-2013 levels, according to Purdue.
"A careful review of our finances with CFO Bill Sullivan and the Board of Trustees has convinced us that we can continue our policy of tuition restraint while maintaining competitive compensation levels and an aggressive program of investment in teaching and research," said Daniels. "Through the cooperation of units and individual leaders all over campus, Purdue students and their families will pay less to attend Purdue in 2019 than they did in 2012. We’re unaware of any other American university that can make that statement."
Purdue says the combination of lower costs and increased education about debt has led to a 30 percent decrease in student borrowing at the university since 2012. Purdue’s student loan default rate is 1 percent three years after graduation, well below the national average of 7.6 percent.
