She previously served as Posey County director for the Southwest Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Johnson succeeds John Taylor, who retired late last year.
Johnson is a University of Southern Indiana graduate and is a board member with Visit Posey County Inc. and Posey County Junior Achievement. She also serves the Posey County Career Success Coalition, Mt. Vernon Kiwanis, New Harmony Business Associates, Mt. Vernon Bicentennial Committee and Indiana Economic Development Association.
Johnson says "this is an exciting time for Posey County, with our assets and our people, Posey County is well-positioned to attract new investments. I look forward to partnering with the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana and the entire economic development community across the state of Indiana."
PCEDP Board President Andrew Wilson says the search revolved around finding an executive director that could position the county as a leader in the "new" economic development model "and Brittaney is that person." He adds "she understands Posey County and will endeavor tirelessly to recruit the businesses and investment we need to continue to grow good-paying jobs in our communities for the next generation."
