Jennie Vaughn has spent more than 25 years at Ivy Tech and served as chancellor in Bloomington since 2014.
During Vaughan’s tenure, Ivy Tech says the reach of the Bloomington campus expanded beyond the city limits to offer career certification courses at various locations, including the StoneGate Arts & Education Center in Bedford, the Brown County Career Resource Center in Nashville, and Ivy Tech Mooresville.
Vaughan is also credited with adding key programs on the campus, including a Pathway to Licensure in partnership with the Monroe County School Corp., an automotive technology program at the Monroe County Airport, and guaranteed admissions programs.
“Chancellor Vaughan has done all the right things for this campus and community. She built a strong team, serving as leaders in addressing the higher education and workforce needs of the region,” Connie Ferguson, chair of the Bloomington Campus Board of Trustees, said in a news release. “Chancellor Vaughan has left a legacy of success and our board and the community will forever be grateful for her tireless leadership.”
Vaughan also led two capital campaigns that raised nearly $15 million, which helped address tuition and emergency funding for students, program growth, and expansion and renovations on the Bloomington campus, according to the college.
Vaughan is set to retire on May 15, 2023. Ivy Tech says it will conduct a nationwide search to find her successor with details being made public in the near future.
