The brewery has launched a survey to get ideas on the name, design and taste elements for the beer, which will be released in 2023.
In August, Upland was named the exclusive craft beer sponsor for IU Athletics beginning with the 2022-2023 season. As part of the three-year agreement, the brewery committed to producing “promotional beer packaging utilizing IU’s cream and crimson color scheme and branding.”
The survey, open through the end of November, is available to anyone aged 21 and older to provide input in name ideas, preferred flavor profiles, and beer can design elements.
Upland says a secondary survey will go out in December allowing people to vote on their favorite beer name and can design based on the initial survey results.
In a news release, Upland President Eddie DeSalle said being able to produce the first IU Athletics beer is “very meaningful.”
“As soon as we learned about the opportunity, we knew we wanted feedback from outside the company,” DeSalle said. “With our Bloomington roots, Upland Brewing Company loves IU sports, but so do countless others. That’s why we’re reaching out and asking for feedback: so fans have a hand in making decisions about what this special brew will look and taste like.”
The final beer is set to be unveiled in early 2023. You can connect to the survey by clicking here.
Upland Brewing Co. was founded in 1998 and has brewpubs and tasting rooms located in Bloomington, Carmel, Columbus, Indianapolis, Jeffersonville, and Southport.
