Herron-Riverside partners with Praxair for high-tech lab

Subscribe NowStudents at Herron-Riverside High School in Indianapolis will soon be able to learn about 3D printing, automation technologies and other innovations on campus. The college preparatory school is partnering with Praxair Surface Technologies to open a new design and automation lab.
The school says the Linde Design and Automation Lab will expand the science department programming already offered at Herron-Riverside.
Praxair Surface Technology, which is a subsidiary of Linde Co. (NYSE: LIN), is five miles from the school. It manufactures surface enhancing materials for aviation, energy, and other industries.
“I’m pleased to support organizations such as Herron-Riverside High School in the advancement of STEM coursework. These skills are important for students at all levels to enable career growth, and PST is happy to contribute to communities where our employees live and work.”, said Derek Hileman, vice president of technology & innovation at PST.
The school and PST have an existing internship program for 12th graders. It says student’s work with the company’s research and development team led to the idea for the Linde Design and Automation Lab.
