South Bend Airport Sees Passenger Increase

South Bend International Airport has seen more passengers in the first quarter of 2019 than it has in the last 18 years. The airport says 193,252 passengers flew in and out of SBN in the quarter, compared to 188,273 in 2001.

The airport has served over 23 percent more passengers over the same period last year, which airport leaders say is largely due to a program named Project Propel urging area businesses to adopt a "Fly Local First" policy. 

“The recent increase of passengers flying in and out of South Bend would not be possible without the continued dedication and support of our community,” said Mike Daigle, SBN’s executive director. “Choosing to fly local will lead to more flight options and will make doing business with our region easier, faster and less expensive.”

SBN currently has four air carriers.
