Subscribe NowAn app created by an Indianapolis mom and former Microsoft employee aims to help other moms better organize their favorite family moments. Carrie Griffith is the founder and chief executive officer of Little Nugget, which allows users to upload pictures of their children and families and turn them into something meaningful with personalized artwork or text. Griffith appeared on a special all-women edition of Inside INdiana Business and talked about how her background played a role in starting a new business in Indy as well as the company’s growth plans.
In an interview with The Startup Ladies CEO Kristen Cooper, Griffith said her time as a Microsoft employee prepared her for a new venture.
"Microsoft is such a great company and it was such an incredible experience working there because they really invest in their people," said Griffith. "It really helped me understand what it’s like to be in the tech world and as a solo founder going out there, finding the right technical partners, it helped me really understand the right questions to ask of my technical team."
Little Nugget not only allows users to organize and customize their photos, but gives the option for creating prints and baby books, among other items. Griffith says the company just passed the milestone of having one million moments saved within the app.
Griffith says the app will continue to grow this year with it becoming available for Android devices. The company is also looking to close on a round of funding for further that growth.
"I’m looking for an investor who understands what it’s like to be a busy parent and has a ton of photos on their phone, but I’m also looking for an investor who understands the consumer space so they can help Little Nugget move forward to the next milestone and really be a good mentor helping us move the business forward."
