Toyota Celebrates Production Growth

The Princeton plant produces the Highlander, Highlander hybrid, Sequoia and Sienna models, half of which saw increases in 2018. The facility produced 422,394 vehicles last year, compared to 412,438 in 2017.
Toyota says TMMI also awarded $1.7 million in funding to local nonprofits, including Indiana FIRST Robotics, Honor Flight of Southern Indiana, the Princeton Public Library, and the Westside Improvement Association to fund a solar power-tied grid for Helfrich Park.
The automaker says the Princeton plant currently employs about 5,400 people and plans are in place to hire an additional 500 by the end of this year as part of a previously-announced expansion.
