The 3 + 1 program allows students to graduate in four years with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.
The schedule to graduate with both degrees in four years is daunting, with students needing to take 40 hours in their fourth year and some 400-level classes acting as "bridge courses" toward the master’s degree.
“As you know, traditional master’s programs require at least a fifth year of study and cost thousands of dollars,” President Dave McFadden said. “With Manchester’s new program, students can earn two degrees for the price of one and start earning money at least a year earlier than they would if they opted for a traditional master’s program.”
Accounting students will still be able to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in 3 to 4 years.
