Belskus to Step Aside From Indy Eleven
Belskus says turning the Indy Eleven into an MLS team is at least a $100 million proposition.

Subscribe NowIndy Eleven Professional Soccer has announced President Jeff Belskus will step down once his successor is found. Belskus, who previously served as chief executive officer of Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Terre Haute-based Hulman and Co., came to Indy Eleven in 2016. The transition is expected to take place by the end of the year.
Owner Ersal Ozdemir said Belskus played a "pivotal role" in multiple accomplishments for the organization over the last two-and-a-half years. "Indy Eleven’s success during the past few years have been significant, and Jeff has been instrumental in the growth and development of the organization," Ozdemir said. "We continue to grow our fan base, have made a well-received transition to the United Soccer League, and made the playoffs in our first year in the USL."
Nolan Partners, which has offices in London, Los Angeles and New York, has been brought on to handle global search efforts.
In the team’s first season playing most of its home games at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, attendance increased 14 percent. In addition to remaining president until the transition, Belskus will continue serving as director of the Indy Eleven Soccer Foundation.
