Nobel Peace Prize Winner to Speak at DePauw

Juan Manuel Santos, who received the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize, will give a speech as part of the university’s Ubben Lecture Series.
The lecture, "Global Citizenship: Now More Than Ever," will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Kresge Auditorium in the Green Center for the Performing Arts on the Greencastle campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Santos served as president of Colombia from 2010 until August 2018. In addition to receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, he was recently awarded the Tipperary International Peace Award.
Santos will be the 11th Nobel laureate and ninth Nobel Peace Prize winner to speak as an Ubben lecturer. Previous speakers include Malala Yousafzai, Mikhail Gorbachev, and DePauw graduate Ferid Murad.
