Filtrec S.p.A. says it will invest $1.3 million into a Daleville operation that could create 25 jobs by 2022. Governor Eric Holcomb announced the plans along with Delaware County and company officials during an economic development mission to Italy.
Initially, Filtrec says it will occupy 5,800 square-feet in Daleville and it intends to double or triple that presence within five years. Two employees have already been hired for Filtrec North America and the company says sales, quality, administrative, technical and executive positions are anticipated to be added by the end of next year.
Chief Executive Officer Sergio Modina said many factors led to Indiana to launch Filtrec’s presence in North America. "For one thing, multiple well-known Italian companies have invested in Indiana, and those investments have proven successful," he said. "The exchange of information made us look deeply into selecting Indiana as a base for the United States. Being the Crossroads of America, Indiana has great roads, rail and air assets, which is ideal for Filtrec S.p.A. being the hub for Canada, Mexico and South America. In addition to all of that, while we considered this expansion as well as future manufacturing developments, the presence of existing key supplies located in and near Indiana was key, as was an experienced and available workforce."
Filtrec North America has been offered up to $275,000 in conditional tax incentives from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
