A former special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched a new firm in Carmel. Doug Kouns founded Veracity IIR, an intelligence, investigations and research firm focusing primarily on corporate and legal clients.

The firm will offer various investigative, risk management, and threat mitigation services. Kouns’ leadership team is comprised of former FBI and Central Intelligence Agency employees. Kouns himself spent more than 20 years with the FBI conducting or overseeing criminal, counter-terrorism, and counter-intelligence investigations.

Veracity officially opened for business earlier this week. The firm will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new headquarters on October 18.
