The $125 million La Porte Hospital will include a helipad and surface-level parking and replace the current facility, which opened in 1972.
The new hospital will be built on the current property on Lincolnway in the LaPorte County city’s downtown. Officials say the new facility will serve more than the current average daily county of 48-50 patients and will be full-service, including emergency, inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiovascular services, critical care, orthopedic, birthing and family care functions. A frequently-asked questions section of the hospital’s website says the new facility will help attract and retain top talent.
The hospital says remodeling the old facility would have cost almost the same as building a new one. You can connect to more about the new hospital by clicking here.
