The city Tuesday unveiled plans for the development, which will also serve as the new home to the Kokomo Automotive Museum.
The project is being developed by Fishers-based Dora Hotel Co. LLC. It will include a 6-story, 123-room Hilton Garden Inn hotel that will be connected to the 22,000-square-foot conference center. The Kokomo Automotive Museum will be located in the basement space of the conference center.
Goodnight says the development will be located near Municipal Stadium and the 306 Riverfront District in the city’s downtown. Developer Tim Dora says the amount of recent investment into the city made Kokomo an obvious choice for the new hotel.
Charlie Sparks, president of the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance, said the impact of the local economy will be dramatic.
“We will see thousands of new visitors to the city each year,” Sparks said. “It creates a tremendous venue for conference and conventions with a great location."
The city did not provide a time frame for the project’s completion.
