The alliance, which is an association of over 50 nonprofits, says local human service organizations pay more than $380 million in annual wages locally. They also hold a total of over $550 million in assets.
AHS board member Steve Hoffman, who is executive director of Brightpoint in Fort Wayne, says "it’s clear that our organizations are both impacting lives and the local economy. This study shows that Allen County’s human service nonprofit sector is a vibrant, thriving force in our community that contributes substantially to the economy of Allen County."
The study excludes other nonprofits like hospitals and churches. The human service organizations included in the research number more than 370 throughout Allen County.
