Marion Underwood, who currently serves as dean of graduate studies and associate provost at the University of Texas at Dallas, will begin her new role in August.
Underwood’s appointment follows a national search that was narrowed down to four finalists. She will succeed Christine Ladisch, who has served as inaugural dean since 2010.
"We are thrilled to have Marion joining us here at Purdue leading this important college," said Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity. "She has the administrative experience, scholarly reputation, passion, energy and vision to lead the college to new levels of excellence and impact."
Underwood is also an Association of Psychological Sciences Fellow. She began her tenure at the UT Dallas in 1998 and became the associate dean of programs and administration in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences before landing her current role.
