The New Jersey-based company markets and distributes Subaru models, which are manufactured by Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. in Lafayette, to more than 600 U.S. retailers. SOA says last month’s sales totals were the best for any March, boosting year-to-date sales to just under 150,000 vehicles, a nearly 4 percent gain from the first quarter in 2017.
In December, SIA unveiled the Ascent sport utility vehicle, Subaru’s newest offering in the U.S. It joins the Outback, Legacy and Impreza models also produced in Tippecanoe County. Subaru of America says it has registered 76 consecutive months of yearly, month-over-month sales growth.
