The students are operating an online store, SHOP1801, in collaboration with VU’s Old Post Bookstore.
The store, which will run through April 12, offers a select variety of VU-branded merchandise. It was created through a partnership with Regions Bank and branch manager Marc McNeece says the program gives students the chance to experience the multiple aspects of running a business, such as social media marketing, building and running an e-commerce web store, order fulfillment, shipping, and finances.
Profits from the store will be used to establish the Regions Bank Trending Topics Fund through the Vincennes University Foundation. The university says the fund will provide scholarships for students enrolled in the Technology Bachelor’s Degree program with a concentration in Information Technology.
