Global Manufacturer Coming to Fort Wayne

Auto part-maker ElringKlinger plans to invest $23 million to launch a facility in Fort Wayne and create up to 150 jobs by 2022.
The company designs, produces and distributes aluminum and plastic automotive parts. It has more than 9,000 employees in around 50 global locations, including U.S. facilities in Georgia, Michigan and California. The Allen County Facility will produce aluminum shielding systems for acoustic and thermal protection for passenger and commercial vehicles.
ElringKlinger says it has already begun the hiring process for quality, environmental, logistics, program, industrial and production managers. The more than 125-year-old company will also hire for engineering and manufacturing positions.
Chief Executive Officer Stefan Wolf calls northeast Indiana an attractive spot for manufacturing customers, adding, "We’re now closer to our customers and we have several industry partners around."
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered ElringKlinger up to $1.2 million in conditional tax credits in training grants based on the job creation plans. The city of Fort Wayne has approved additional incentives.
