(Nasdaq: LINC) is adding welding and metal fabrication training to its offerings in Indianapolis. The for-profit post-secondary education institution says Indy is one of three campuses that will launch the welding program this year. The first courses will begin at the end of June and will launch later in South Plainfield, New Jersey and Columbia, Maryland.
Lincoln Tech says the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports nearly 130,000 welding jobs will become available over the next decade. Campus President Daniel Richins says "we look forward to expanding our program offering to include training for welding and metal fabrication careers, because we consistently hear from area employers that they can’t find enough candidates with the right skills to join their teams. The motorsports industry, which of course thrives in Indiana, is just one of many in need of welders. We are also seeing great demand across fields like construction, transportation, manufacturing, and agriculture."
Lincoln Tech currently has four campuses that offer the training.
