Summit to Highlight Northeast Indiana Ties With Japan

Speakers at the Japan-Northeast Indiana Summit include Consul-General of Japan in Chicago Naoki Ito and Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger.
The summit will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Grand Wayne Center in downtown Fort Wayne. It is being held in collaboration with the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago, the Japan External Trade Organization, and JTL America.
More than 280 Japanese companies operate in Indiana, employing more than 58,000 people, according to the Indiana Economic Development Corp. Last year, Governor Eric Holcomb led a delegation to Japan and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the country’s state minister of foreign affairs in an effort to advance collaboration.
