Report: Despite Delay, Sportsplex Negotiations Continue

While a contract has not been finalized as previously expected, The Daily Journal in Johnson County reports the project that calls for a Sportsplex, movie theater, shopping center, restaurants and possible hotels, is still expected to come together.
A letter of intent signed by the city, Jim and Sean Hallett, who own the Indy Fuel, and Indianapolis-based Gershman Partners in June was targeting last August as the time when definitive agreements would be signed.
Redevelopment Commission President Brent Tilson says talks among stakeholders are set for this month. He tells the publication all parties are undertaking "extensive legal work," adding complexity to any final agreement for the more than 100-acre property.
