Governor Eric Holcomb and Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will be on hand to launch the effort, which includes centralizing the airport’s TSA screening area.
The project’s third phase also includes improving passenger amenities such as a new business lounge, a children’s play area, family restrooms, a pets area and a nursing room. The first and second phases are already underway, which include new meeting areas and office spaces, as well as updates to the terminal’s exterior.
The entire renovation project is expected to be complete by the end of 2018. The effort is part of the southwest region’s Indiana Regional Cities Initiative plan.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. adds the project supports Holcomb’s goal of enhancing the state’s connectivity by attracting new nonstop and direct flights to and from Indiana. The kickoff celebration is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. Central Time.
