Subscribe NowThe Plymouth Common Council has approved a seven-year tax abatement for American Containers Inc., which is planning to invest nearly $550,000 in facility upgrades. The company says the investment will improve automation and efficiency, while helping retain more than 60 jobs at the Marshall County plant.
The more than 50-year-old company provides packing solutions for customers throughout the country. The Marshall County Economic Development Corp. says, in addition to the facility itself, American Containers will also use the investment to upgrade equipment, including a press pre-feeder and automation equipment.
American Containers currently has 62 employees at its Plymouth facility and says the expansion will create one new full-time position. The company also has facilities in Carrollton, Georgia and Stockton, California.
