The city is partnering with Indianapolis-based Envoy Inc. and others on Elevate Office Suites, which includes more than 100 office suites and a coworking space. Brownsburg Redevelopment Commission Vice President Troy Austin says the nearly $5 million project is the first step in an investment that will pay itself back "many times over" over the course of 20 years.
Austin says Brownsburg is "new to the party" when it comes to downtown development. The masterplan for downtown Brownsburg also includes two additional mixed-use developments as well as a recreation center. In addition, the town is looking to make improvements to the surrounding infrastructure, including access for pedestrians and bicycles. Crews have begun work on a public entrance to Arbuckle Acres Park and Elevate Office Suites.
Last year, the town detailed plans for the $60 million Brownsburg Town Center. The development would include 220 apartments, as well as retail and parking spaces.
"What you’re seeing now is just a field," Envoy Inc. Executive Vice President Scott Baldwin tells Inside INdiana Business. "Come back in a couple, two or three years and you’re going to see a lot of energy here, and we’re excited to be a part of that."
