The Terre Haute school will in July open an office in The Union 525 in downtown Indianapolis. Rose-Hulman President Jim Conwell says many of the companies already located in the building have connections to the school.
Conwell says the Union 525 space allows the school to "engage with technology entrepreneurs and established companies, other educational institutions and STEM advocates in Indianapolis’ growing tech sector." He says it will provide opportunities for new initiatives and continuing education as well.
Union 525 the former home of Manual and Wood high schools. Tenants include companies such as Arizona-based Levementum, SmartFile and Scale Computing, whose co-founder Jeff Ready is a Rose-Hulman alum. The building is also the temporary home of the new Purdue Polytechnic High School, which will operate there while renovation work on the school’s permanent home continues.
Conwell says Union 525 checks several boxes for Rose-Hulman.
