The Purdue Railyard is located in the Heddy Kurz Purdue Technology Building and the school says it is one of the largest in the country. PRP Director Greg Napier says the 26,140 square-foot facility "provides unparalleled amenities and space for early-stage entrepreneurs."
The facility’s theme is drawn from the first full-scale locomotive used in the school’s Locomotive Testing Plant around the turn of the 19th Century, called the Purdue Schenectady No. 1. Its features include 14 conference rooms, three phone rooms, a stage, a cafe and a two-story meeting area that looks like a water tower.
Napier says The Purdue Railyard will support "the entire entrepreneurial culture in West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County and the surrounding areas. The location of the co-space is another great asset as we have 160 companies in this Purdue Research Park; that provides co-space members with the access to meet other fully established entrepreneurs who are happy to give advice and create strong opportunities for partnerships."
The facility is also plugged into the statewide Indiana Coworking Passport, which allows members to access nearly three dozen other coworking spaces in Indiana.
