In a notice to the state, the company says 207 employees at the Perry County facility will be out of work in mid-June.
The majority of the positions being eliminated are customer care jobs. STARTEK did not state a specific reason for the layoffs.
"Certain employees may be offered the opportunity to transfer to another role within the STARTEK organization," the company said. "However, at present, the company does not know which, if any, employees may be offered this option."
The company says the affected employees do not have any bumping rights and are not represented by a union. STARTEK has a number of locations throughout the world, including one in Jeffersonville.
