Tyson, who has served as a trustee since 2014, succeeds Brother John Paige, who is taking a leave of absence before beginning a new job in Catholic higher education.
Tyson is the director of nonprofit professional development at the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. David Bender, chairman of the Holy Cross College Board of Trustees, says Tyson "will be able to lead with the benefit of his own talents as well as familiarity with the mission, programs, students and staff of the school."
Paige had served as president of Holy Cross College since January 2011. Prior to coming to the college, Paige served as Vicar General of the Congregation of Holy Cross in Rome.
Holy Cross College did not specify the type of job Paige would begin following his leave of absence.
