The school says three recent gifts will support projects including a diversity center, sustainability program and an upgraded press box at the football stadium.
The Campaign for DePauw, which launched in October 2014, currently stands at $300,832,027. President Mark McCoy says the support from the school’s alumni, parents and friends has been "apparent, intense and transformative."
The university says the three recent gifts pushed the campaign over its initial goal. Trustee Justin Christian and Darrianne Howard Christian pledged $500,000 to name and build the Justin and Darrianne Christian Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Scott and Beth Daley Ullem are contributing $1 million to upgrade the campus farm and fund the school’s sustainability program. Elkhart entrepreneurs and former DePauw football players Todd Cleveland and Scott Welch, along with their wives, have committed $500,000 to renovate the press box at Blackstock Stadium.
The school says President McCoy and the leaders of the campaign will decide on the formal next steps for the effort in the coming months.
