Daviess Hospital to Open CORE Center

Subscribe NowDaviess Community Hospital is set to open a $5 million orthopedic center Friday afternoon in downtown Washington. Washington Mayor Joe Wellman will join hospital and government officials for the ceremony.
The CORE Center, which stands for chiropractic, orthopedic, rehabilitation excellence, is expected to double the patient capacity for the region in terms of orthopedic- and chiropractic-related services. It includes a state-of-the-art rehabilitation pool and underwater treadmill, as well as onsite x-ray imaging services.
The hospital says the more than 18,000 square-foot facility was funded with assistance from the Daviess County Economic Development Foundation, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, the city of Washington and private donations. No tax dollars were used for the center’s development.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Friday.
