The chamber has also announced a new partnership with Ivy Tech Community College to bring more resources to Hendricks County.
The Indy Chamber says a business coach from its Chamber’s Business Ownership Initiative will keep regular hours at Ivy Tech’s Avon campus and offer free one-on-one coaching services to small business owners and entrepreneurs. The coach will also manage a microloan program, offering small loans to startups that may not meet traditional lending standards.
Business Ownership Initiative President Carrie Henderson says, while business coaching has always been available to companies throughout the nine-county Indy metro area, the new partnership is part of the chamber’s goal "to make entrepreneurial resources visible and convenient across our region."
The organization says it served more than 1,100 employers and entrepreneurs in 2016 and directly supported 78 new business starts.
