Hoosier Companies Considered ‘Most Admired’

The results from Fortune are determined by votes from approximately 3,800 executives, analysts, directors and experts.
In all, about 1,500 global companies were candidates.
This year’s top 10 companies are:

- 2. Amazon
- 3. Starbucks
- 4. Berkshire Hathaway
- 5. Disney
- 6. Alphabet
- 7. General Electric
- 8. Southwest Airlines
- 9(t). Facebook
- 9(t). Microsoft
The Indiana companies on the list, ranked in from highest-overall score to lowest, are: Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI), Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group (NYSE: SPG) and Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY).
Cummins came in second in the Construction and Farm Machinery category, up from third last year. The manufacturer scored a 7.08 overall. Simon Property Group again placed first in the Real Estate category. It received a 6.79 overall score. Lilly increased its ranking in the Pharmaceuticals category to eighth from last year’s 10th rank. It was scored a 6.48 overall.
