That includes seven Indiana locations in Bloomington, Kokomo, Fort Wayne, Goshen, Michigan City and Plymouth.
The company also has stores in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri and Iowa. A joint venture between Tiger Capital Group and Great American Group is conducting the company’s going-out-of-business sale.
The joint venture says MC Sports, which was launched in Grand Rapids in 1946, was one of the few remaining privately-held sporting goods chains in the country. Since its founding, the company acquired regional chains including Illinois-based Morrie Mages’ Sports and Browns Sporting Goods. MC Sports filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Tuesday.
