The school’s board of trustees has approved issuing bonds for the health professions building, which will house all of the university’s health-related programs.
The 165,000 square-foot building will feature classrooms, laboratories, offices, a resource hub, clinical spaces and simulation suites. The facility will house the College of Health, which Ball State launched this year.
Interim President Terry King says the creation of the school and the progress on the health professions building "reinforces Ball State’s leadership in this vital field, while setting our students apart in the marketplace."
In other business, the board approved a 1 percent room and board increase and named Marilyn Buck acting provost. Buck currently serves as senior associate provost and dean of University College.
