During an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Regional Chief Executive Officer Mark Bradford said visibility and technology were major factors in the decision to locate on Monument Circle.
He also said the bank was "thrilled" with the economic activity and loan and investment opportunities in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and Pacers Sports and Entertainment Vice Chairman Jim Morris are among those taking part in Tuesday’s event.
Bradford says the site in the heart of downtown Indianapolis also provides great exposure for the bank. "One Monument Circle," said Bradford during the interview, "Can you tell me a better address than that?"
The company first announced plans for the regional office in March. At the time, Old National said key executives, regional associates and members of the commercial lending team will move to the space in the Indianapolis Power & Light Co. building. Credit and other support associates are remaining in the company’s current space in the Parkwood Office Park in Indianapolis.
The ribbon-cutting continues an eventful year for Old National. In May, the company announced the $93 million sale of its Old National Insurance subsidiary and the closing of its $460 million merger with Anchor BanCorp Wisconsin Inc. In August, Old National announced an agreement to buy its headquarters building, as well as other currently-leased bank properties in Booneville and Henderson, Kentucky in deals worth a total of nearly $100 million.
