Japanese Auto Parts Maker Coming to Indiana

Auto parts manufacturer M&C Tech Indiana will invest more than $4.6 million and create up to 70 jobs in Washington by 2021.
The company, a joint venture between Moriroku Chemicals and Chubu Chemicals, plans to begin construction of a 40,000 square-foot factory on more than six acres in Washington. Workers at the plant will produce plastic parts for the automotive industry. It’s expected to be up and running by the summer of 2017.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered M&C Tech Indiana more than $300,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants based on the job creation plans. The company plans to initially hire 25 associates and ultimately reach 70 by 2021.
IEDC President Jim Schellinger says the I-69 expansion project was a key factor in attracting the company, saying "this interstate is already helping drive employers from around the world to create new jobs here at home." He says, since 2013, more than 45 Japanese companies have committed to creating more than 6,400 Hoosier jobs.
